Timeline

*This information is more detailed than most people will care about. :)  It's mostly for me to keep track of stuff.  


5/29 - Emailed country to see if we qualified to adopt a younger child
5/30 - Got a response that YES we shouldn't have a problem adopting again
5/30 - Emailed agency requesting info on children available in our age range
5/30 - Received info on 2 kids (seriously....THAT FAST!)
5/30 - Emailed our social worker
5/30 - Asked (by agency) to write a permission letter (due to age difference exception)
6/2  - Received preliminary approval to adopt a younger child
6/2  - Made our decision on which child we hope to adopt
6/3  - Received preliminary approval to pursue adoption of said child
6/6  - Received additional info and picture of child
6/11 - Application and service agreement received at agency.
6/16 - Got email with dossier documents list
6/18 - Social worker called....homestudy is DONE!
6/18 - Sent request for state background check
8/24 - I800a approval received
9/4 - Dossier mailed out
9/25 - Dossier translation finished and dossier submitted
10/30 - Article 16 paperwork compiled by Ministry
11/12 - Article 16 paperwork translated
11/24 - I800 application sent
12/13 - I800 approval received
12/22 - Got provisional travel date
12/23 - Received a new picture and height/weight info on our little girl!!
12/30 - Meeting scheduled with US Embassy for Jan 20th (we have a firm travel date!!)
12/31 - Have plane tickets!!
1/17 - We're leaving on a jet plane!
1/20 - (9am) Meeting with Embassy
1/20 - (11:30am) Meeting with Ministry of adoption
1/20 - Met our sweet girlie!
1/22 - First report sent
1/23 - Our girl is with us
1/26 - Second report sent
1/28 - Minister signature
1/30 - Adoption ceremony
1/31 - Picked up passport
2/1 - Medical completed
2/2 - 1st Embassy appointment
2/4 - Picked up Visa and exit documentation (took an extra day because of computer glitch)
2/5 - FLY HOME FOREVER!!
